BOARD OF DIRECTORS

GCC RIO GRANDE

GCC Rio Grande, a division of Groupo Cementos de Chihuahua, serves customers in El Paso and southern New Mexico. Bulk and sacked cement is distributed through rail terminal facilities in El Paso.

Cement for the region is manufactured at the company's state-of-the-art plant in Samalayuca, Mexico. The 1 million short ton facility supplies both Types II and V cements. Cementos de Chihuahua's other Mexican operations include cement plants in Chihuahua and Juarez. In the United States, GCC Rio Grande Portland Cement operates the El Paso Terminal and a manufacturing operation outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Permitting is underway for a new million short ton facility in Pueblo, Colorado.

Quality and the environment are of the utmost concern to Groupo Cementos de Chihuahua. The new, high efficiency equipment at the Samalayuca Plant makes it possible to produce cement that is unsurpassed for consistency and quality. The Samalayuca Plant also was designed to meet Texas clean air standards and exceeds Mexico's stringent air quality regulations. The facility, located in the desert south of Juarez, is beautifully landscaped with trees, fountains and wetland areas.

Groupo Cementos de Chihuahua's Samalayuca Plant was recently awarded the Mexican equivalent of the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. Pride, progressive management styles and a commitment to teamwork and technology made this achievement possible.

GCC Rio Grande recently supplied cement to several high profile projects in the El Paso area, including the remodeling of the El Paso Airport, IH-10 paving and concrete paving for the construction of the Pete Domenici Highway.
