Capitol Cement is a manufacturer and supplier of quality construction and oil well cements to Texas markets. A division of Capitol Aggregates Ltd. and an affiliate of H.B. Zachry Co., a worldwide construction firm in business since 1924, Capitol has been in the building material industry for 50 plus years.

Capitol Aggregates Inc. began in 1957 as a ready-mix and aggregate producer in Austin. And sand and gravel operations continue to be a company mainstay.

In 1964, the company purchased and refitted an outmoded chemical plant, which was ideal in size, location and equipment for the start of the Capitol Cement operation, manufacturing portland cement. Since then, the facilities have been expanded and the introduction of state-of-the-art equipment has brought Capitol's production capacity to 1 million tons per year. The company's unique quarry contains all the minerals necessary to make portland cement, and its material reserve is ample for production well into the 21st century.

Capitol strives to be a positive element in the community through providing education and maintaining a safe, healthy environment. Visits to the company's San Antonio plant are encouraged and are given under staff supervision to ensure the safety and comfort of both visitors and employees.
