ABOUT US

The Cement Council of Texas provides technical information to those individuals and agencies that write construction specifications. The Council distributes technical bulletins published by the Portland Cement Association (PCA), the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), or local publications. Information may be shared with decision makers individually or through seminars that attract a large number of public and private practice engineers.

The Cement Council of Texas engineering and marketing staff is headquartered in Hurst, Texas. Executive Director Jan Prusinski, P.E. manages the staff and coordinates the various activities of the cement council.

ACTIVITIES

The Cement Council of Texas acts as a technical resource for designers, specifiers, and constructors on cement and concrete subjects with its professional engineering staff and other experts. It provides assistance in the proper applications of these products in all aspects of design and construction.

In addition to it's own staff, the Council's resources include the Portland Cement Association, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, the American Concrete Paving Association, the American Concrete Institute, the Concrete Foundations Association colleges & universities, and other professional groups.

The Cement Council of Texas has committed to the promotion of Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF). Focusing on this effort, the Council has developed "regional" committees in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio and the greater Rio Grande Valley. These committees act as a means of communication, education and promotion of ICFs in these regions, and to provide technical support for anyone interested in the use of ICFs.

In an effort to provide support for this growth industry, the Cement Council of Texas and PCA also, provide the construction industry with support for conventional concrete forming. This new system allows production builders the opportunity to provide all the benefits of ICFs at a affordable price.

The Cement Council of Texas coordinates these efforts and acts as the clearinghouse for information and data collection.

Current areas of focus include:
